As a part of the activities of the Iraqi Science Day, which was held by Al-Nahrain University, on 2nd/5/2018, a number of teaching staff members of the College of Medicine were honored for obtaining : The degree of Professorship, Best Published Research Award, Distinguished Teaching Award in Medical Specialties, and graduate students for the Best Thesis Award.
The ceremony started with reading some holy verses of Holy Quran followed by a speech delivered by the President of Al-Nahrain University. Then, the Vice Chancellor displayed data on the screen, then a speech delivered by the representative of students, and lastly, a speech of the retired professor was presented. The awards were gone to the following names: Prof. Dr. Waseem Fadhil Mohammed received the Distinguished Teaching Award in Medical Specialties Assist. Prof. Dr. Haider Ahmed Shamran received the best-published research award in medical specialties. Assist. Prof. Dr. Rasha Ahmed Sabeeh received the best-published research award in medical specialties. Assist. The Graduate student, Seifan Najm Alwan Abdullah, received the award of the best master's thesis in the medical specialties

The Awards of Patents were gone to: Assist. Prof. Dr. AbdulKareem Hameed Abid Assist. Prof. Dr. Qassim Sharhan Haraj Assist. Prof. Dr. Haider Ahmed Shamran Prof. Dr. Arwa Mujahid Abdullah received the Laurel-UNESCO Prize for the Levant and Egypt.
