Al-Nahrain College of Medicine Holds a Workshop on Job Titles and Job Descriptions
Under the patronage of the Dean of Al-Nahrain College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Anees K. Nile, the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division, in collaboration with the Legal Affairs Division, held a workshop entitled:
"Job Titles and Job Descriptions"
The workshop took place on Monday, 2 November 2026, in the College's Main Hall, with the participation of a number of academic staff members and administrative employees.
The workshop featured two specialised lectures delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Haifa Radi Jaafar and Legal Consultant Ms. Enas Hilal Kadhim, addressing the administrative and legal aspects of job titles and job descriptions. The lectures highlighted the importance of defining the duties, responsibilities, and authorities associated with each position in accordance with applicable legislation, regulations, and institutional work requirements.
The workshop also highlighted the importance of adopting clear and accurate job descriptions to help organise the administrative structure, define responsibilities, enhance performance efficiency, and ensure transparency and fairness in the distribution of duties. Furthermore, it emphasised their role in supporting academic accreditation requirements, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
The workshop witnessed active participation and discussions, during which attendees exchanged views and received answers to their inquiries concerning the practical implementation of job descriptions and mechanisms for developing them in accordance with the nature of academic and administrative work at the College.
This workshop is part of the Deanship's ongoing efforts to promote a culture of quality and institutional development, improve administrative and academic performance, and strengthen compliance with academic accreditation requirements.
The workshop was coordinated by Lecturer Dr. Sabrin Saad Salman, a member of the Quality Assurance Division at Al-Nahrain College of Medicine, Al-Nahrain University.
