Participation of Al-Nahrain University College of Medicine in the 10th World Conference on Disability and Rehabilitation – Thailand

In the presence of the University President, Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Shawi, and the Head of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations, Prof. Dr. Hassan Mousa Al-Mousawi, the College of Medicine at Al-Nahrain University participated in the 10th World Conference on Disability and Rehabilitation, held in Bangkok, Thailand, from August 28–29, 2025.

The participation came through faculty member Lect. Dr. Haider Fares Alloush, a specialist in neurosurgery, who presented an in-person research paper entitled:

“Improving Functional Outcomes in Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation: Challenges and Strategic Approaches in Developing Countries.”

During his participation, the University President emphasized the university’s commitment to supporting scientific and research activities that contribute to strengthening its academic standing and improving its global ranking. This achievement aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

  • Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being

  • Goal 4: Quality Education

  • Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals

It also represents an important step toward fulfilling the requirements of international academic accreditation and enhancing the position of the university and the college in the global research arena.
