As a qualitative step toward digital transformation and in line with the directives of Al-Nahrain University Presidency and the Central Library to adopt the latest global systems in library management, the Library of the College of Medicine has commenced the implementation of the advanced Koha system for managing and classifying books, theses, and dissertations. The project is being carried out under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Anis Khalil Nail, with a specialized working team formed to oversee its execution and ensure that its objectives are achieved according to the highest standards. In this context, the library organized a training workshop for its staff, during which the Head Librarian, Zainab Mohammed Mousa, delivered an introductory lecture on the Koha system. The session included a detailed explanation of its mechanisms, features in facilitating cataloging and electronic borrowing processes, as well as its role in improving the quality of services provided to students and researchers. This initiative comes as part of the efforts of the College of Medicine Library to provide an advanced research environment that meets academic development requirements and aligns with international standards in information management.
