
Under the patronage and presence of the Dean of the College of Medicine at Al-Nahrain University, Professor Dr. Anis Khalil Nail, the college held a memorial service on the occasion of the first anniversary of the martyrdom of the Leader of the Resistance, His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. The event was attended by the President of Al-Nahrain University, Professor Dr. Ali Abdulaziz Al-Shawi, Professor Dr. Haider Baha, Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Al-Nahrain University, and Dr. Muqdad Ismail Al-Khafaji, Director of Al-Imamein Al-Kadhimein Medical City, alongside a gathering of faculty members, staff, and students of the college. The ceremony took place at the college’s Conference Hall and opened with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech delivered by the President of Al-Nahrain University, Professor Dr. Ali Abdulaziz Al-Shawi. In his remarks, he emphasized that remembering the martyrs is a moral and human duty that instills in souls the values of resilience and sacrifice for principles and higher ideals, noting that Martyr Hassan Nasrallah embodied a national symbol in defending the causes of the nation. The Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Anis Khalil Nail, also addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of recalling the figures who gave their lives for principles, stressing that martyrdom represents the highest form of altruism. He added that by commemorating this anniversary, the college contributes to nurturing its students’ awareness and instilling in them the values of sacrifice and responsibility. Additionally, Professor Dr. Waseem Fadel Al-Tamimi, faculty member at the Department of Internal Medicine, spoke about the profound moral impact such occasions leave in people’s hearts, considering Martyr Nasrallah a model of steadfastness, patience, and responsibility during the most difficult times, and urging emulation of his path in fulfilling national and humanitarian duties. The memorial also featured several activities reflecting the spirit of the occasion, including documentary video clips, poetry recitations, and speeches that expressed loyalty and pride in the martyr’s legacy and his place in the national and popular conscience.
