In collaboration with the Baghdad-Karkh Health Directorate / Al-Kadhimiya Primary Health Care Sector, Al-Nahrain College of Medicine organizes a seasonal influenza vaccination campaign.
Under the guidance of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Al-Nahrain University, Professor Dr. Anis Khalil Nael, and in coordination with the Baghdad-Karkh Health Directorate, the college conducted a seasonal influenza vaccination campaign.
The campaign aimed to vaccinate most of the college’s staff and students to protect them from common seasonal influenza, as this vaccine is considered safe and effective. Vaccination has significantly reduced the number of infections and lessened the occurrence of the disease.
The campaign coordinator explained that seasonal influenza spreads easily and its infection is transmitted rapidly in crowded places. Infectious droplets containing the virus can be dispersed into the air, infecting people near the sick individual. Additionally, the virus can spread through hands contaminated with influenza viruses.
It is worth noting that such campaigns reinforce the college’s role, represented by its administration, in ensuring the health and safety of all college members, including students and staff, throughout the year, especially during virus outbreaks.
