CLINICOPATHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT OF PRIMARY PEDIATRIC BONE TUMOR INA SAMPLE OF IRAQI PATIENTS

Primary bone tumors are the third most common tumors in pediatric age groupafter leukemia and lymphoma. The purpose of the study was to assess the clinicopathological characteristic of primary pediatric bone tumors and their correlation to age, site, clinical presentation, and radiological features. this was a retrospective study carried out on 100 cases from the archive in the AL-Emamain AL- Kadhmain AS medical city and the educational laboratories of Baghdad Medical City; Out of 100 patients, the most common pediatric age group that have bone tumors was from 11-15 years old, males affected more than females(51%); benign tumors represent the most common primary pediatric bone tumors(89%);the most commonpresentation was pain(47%); femur represent the most common site (27%); aneurysmal bone cyst was the most frequent bone tumor (24%) followed by osteochondroma (19%); lytic lesion without sclerotic margin was most frequent radiological feature (54%).
