Al-Nahrain College of Medicine celebrates Al-Nahrain Spring Festival
Under the auspices of the Dean of Al-Nahrain College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Alaa Ghani Hussein, and with the presence of a number of special guests including the delegation of Al-Kathimiya Holy Shrine headed by the engineer, Saad Muhammad Hassan, a member of Al-Kathimiya Holy Shrine Board, the Director of Al-Imamain Al-Kathimain Medical City, and a number of teaching staff members, Al-Nahrain College of Medicine celebrated the spring festival 2014-2015 at the main hall on Wednesday, 06/05/2015. The ceremony included recitation of some speeches as well as opening post-graduate Studies hall, molecular pathology laboratory, tissue culture laboratory, computer laboratories, and an exhibition of the students achievements of science and other activities. The participation of Al-Kathimiya Holy Shrine in this festival is to reveal concern about the reality of scientific and technological status of the college, and distribution to the efforts urged to support the scientific march and to sponsor competencies and Iraqi capabilities. It has also been acquainted with some college publications including; books, master and doctoral theses of some teaching staff members where an exhibition was held at the college. The exhibition included an offer of the Cups and Medals obtained by the students, under the supervision of the Sport Activity Unit in the college after attaining the first top in the sports champions of the university. After that the Dean of Al-Nahrain College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Alaa Ghani Hussein, delivered address welcoming his honored guests, professors, and students. Then , poets, plays about homeland love, and a documentary film about professors and students ' academic life. Also, a number of teaching staff members were honored by Mr. Dean for being the best in teaching through a questionnaire done by students annually. At the end, the students presented thanks and praised Mr. Dean for his support over the last years which resulted in required success. In his turn, the Dean wished success and permanent good luck to be successful doctors in future.
