Under the auspices of the Dean of Al-Nahrain College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Alaa Ghani Hussein, and under the supervision of Assis. Prof. Dr. Rafid Basheer Al-Taweel, the Internal Medicine Branch held a seminar about heart diseases entitled” Dynamic look to deal with chest pain of Mr. Smith” presented by an expatriate Australia physician Prof. Dr. Sahib Al-Thaher, a specialist in cardiology and catheterization, was hosted by the college on Wednesday, 24/12/2014
At the beginning of the seminar, the Dean and professors of the college welcomed the guest who presented a lecture about heart diseases consisting of two axes: causes of chest pain and how to diagnose diseases that cause chest pain, as well as how to treat them with practical explanation about coronary atherosclerosis, and how to diagnose and treat acute heart attack (angina).
The second axis of the lecture included the definition of catheterization to open coronary arteries and complications resulted from such sensitive operations and how to diagnose and treat complications. Several recommendations concerning the disease were put in hand:
All possible causes of chest pain should be revealed, also, its diagnosis and treatment possibilities are done through the full understanding and awareness of the causative diseases.
There must be cooperation between intern physicians and medicine specialists and with the nursing staff in the emergency treatment of heart to gain good results for the patient.
After that, they exchanged opinions and queries about this disease to benefit from the information given by Prof. Dr. Sahib Al-Thaher that he gained during his residency in Australia, and to get the latest information of science and medicine in the modern world.
The Dean of Al-Nahrain College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Alaa Ghani Hussein, presented a thank letter and the shield of the college to Prof. Dr. Sahib Al-Thaher as a gratitude for his efforts in conveying invaluable information through his precious lecture in heart diseases.
