**Head of the Department of Internal Medicine at the College of Medicine, Al-Nahrain University Participates in a Scientific Seminar on Obesity**

Participation of a Faculty Member from the College of Medicine, Al-Nahrain University in a Scientific Seminar on Obesity Professor Dr. Mahmoud Shaker Khudair, Head of the Department of Internal Medicine at the College of Medicine, Al-Nahrain University, participated in a specialized scientific seminar on obesity, recently held in Baghdad at the Babylon Hotel, with the attendance and participation of a large number of physicians from various medical specialties. During the seminar, Dr. Mahmoud Shaker emphasized the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle based on proper nutrition and regular physical activity, due to their essential role in the prevention and treatment of obesity and its complications. He also reviewed the latest scientific developments regarding the effectiveness of modern medications in the treatment of obesity, particularly GLP-1–based therapies, highlighting their significant role in improving glycemic control in diabetes, as well as their positive benefits in reducing the risks of kidney, cardiovascular, and vascular diseases. This participation comes within the framework of ongoing scientific and academic efforts aimed at enhancing medical awareness and exchanging expertise on the latest globally approved therapeutic approaches to address obesity and its associated diseases.
