A Scientific Workshop at Al-Nahrain College of Medicine Discusses the Latest Diabetes Treatment Technologies
Under the patronage of the Dean of Al-Nahrain College of Medicine, Prof. Anis Khalil Nail, the Department of Internal Medicine organized a specialized workshop addressing the latest advancements in diabetes treatment technologies.
Prof. Mahmoud Shaker Khudair, a faculty member of the department, delivered a scientific lecture focusing on the use of continuous glucose monitoring devices and insulin pumps for patients who rely on insulin therapy. The workshop included a detailed presentation of models of these devices, an explanation of their mechanisms of action, and the categories of patients who may benefit from them. The event was attended by a number of professors and physicians from various specialties interested in diabetes management and treatment.
The workshop concluded with recommendations emphasizing the importance of health education on the use of these technologies, particularly for patients with type 1 diabetes on multiple daily insulin injections, cases of gestational diabetes, and patients experiencing fluctuating glucose levels and recurrent hypoglycemic episodes.
