Guidance Lecture at Al-Nahrain College of Medicine on Sexual and Reproductive Rights in Light of Sharia and Societal Values

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Medicine – Al-Nahrain University, Professor Dr. Anees Khalil Nayel, and in line with the university’s approach to promoting health education, the College of Medicine organized an awareness and guidance lecture on sexual and reproductive rights. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Sahar Hassan Mushtat, a faculty member of the Counseling Unit.

The lecture shed light on the fundamental principles of these rights from both religious and societal perspectives, emphasizing that they are not merely personal freedoms, but responsibilities that must be upheld within the framework of justice, compassion, and mutual understanding—aligned with the preservation of life, lineage, and cultural norms.

The session witnessed active engagement from students and attendees, highlighting the significance of raising health and social awareness among youth and reaffirming the academic institution's role in responsible education and guidance.
