A Scientific Visit by Al-Nahrain College of Medicine to Al-Qanah Social Rehabilitation Center

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Medicine at Al-Nahrain University, Prof. Dr. Anees Khalil Nael, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the college, in cooperation with the Department of Pharmacology, organized an academic field visit to the Al-Qanah Social Rehabilitation Center, which specializes in treating individuals with drug and psychoactive substance addiction. The visit took place on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, with the participation of a number of faculty members and postgraduate students. The purpose of the visit was to review the treatment protocols for individuals with addiction, learn about the psychological and educational support mechanisms provided to patients, and understand how these efforts contribute to reintegrating them into society, promoting positive behaviors, raising intellectual and health awareness, and supporting social security. The visit also included presenting a shield, on behalf of the Dean of the College of Medicine at Al-Nahrain University, to the Center’s Director, Dr. Abdul-Rahim Atta, in appreciation of the staff’s efforts in caring for the patients residing at the center.
