Al-Nahrain University College of Medicine Launches a Waste Separation and Recycling Campaign

19 October 2025

As part of Al-Nahrain University’s College of Medicine activities aimed at promoting the concept of sustainable development and rationalizing resource use, the college launched the “Waste Separation and Recycling” campaign in cooperation with the Sumer Organization for Public Health and Sustainable Development. The campaign included the provision of designated bins for waste separation throughout the college and the organization of an awareness drive encouraging students and staff to dispose of waste properly. As part of the initiative, a quantity of used paper waste was delivered to the School Supplies Factory of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals / Baghdad, in support of recycling efforts and the transformation of waste into reusable resources. This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals related to responsible consumption and production and clean energy.
