The Faculty of Medicine believes in the great responsibility held by its students, both towards the community and in building the future of our beloved country. Hence, the university hosted a group of students, naming themselves Builders of Iraq, from one of the non-governmental organisations in the community, Al-Ta'awon Charity Association, who voice their encouragement of voluntary work and serving the community.
During the meeting between the Builders of Iraq and a number of professors and students, the organisation expressed their beliefs and spread their views to encourage students to join in fundraising events for poor families and orphans.
The members of the group began by presenting a brief summary of each of their work, and one member emphasised the importance of their humanitarian work in light of the terrorism, unrest and violence currently witnessed in Iraq. These problems have had a profound negative impact on the lives of millions of civilians. He also touched upon the challenges and difficulties faced by these organisations in some regions as a result of the security situation, and despite this, all cooperate to find solutions to these problems and overcome them.
