Al-Nahrain College of Medicine Holds the Activities of **Medical Education and Sustainable Development Day**
Under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Anis Khalil Nael, the activities of Medical Education and Sustainable Development Day were held on the morning of Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. The event was organized by the Quality Assurance Unit / Sustainable Development Committee, in cooperation with the Medical Education and Curriculum Development Unit and the Students’ Committee, with the participation of Together Organization for Human and Environmental Protection, Sumer Organization for Sustainable Development, Al-Ain Foundation, and Al-Kadhimiya Holy Shrine, and was attended by the Dean of the College of Law, under the slogan:
"Towards Effective and Sustainable Medical Education"
Event Objectives:
Promoting innovation in medical education: "Inspiring the teacher to empower the learner."
Building sustainable partnerships between the college, governmental institutions, and non-governmental organizations.
Empowering students to actively participate in green and sustainable medical education.
Event Highlights:
The event began with an opening ceremony in the main hall, including a speech by the Dean, followed by the announcement of launching new training courses and workshops on medical education and curriculum development toward sustainability, and highlighting the participation of our students in the Public Health Conference in Thailand.
Afterward, the outdoor activities commenced, which included several campaigns:
Launching a tree-planting campaign in the college and hospital in cooperation with Sumer Organization.
Opening a charity bazaar in collaboration with Al-Ain Foundation.
Launching a recycling and waste segregation campaign with Sumer Organization.
Holding a sustainable products bazaar in cooperation with Together Organization.
Organizing a food festival and distribution of food baskets as part of the “Zero Hunger” initiative.
