**Merkel Charity Volunteer Team with the Participation of More Than 270 Volunteers from the College of Medicine – Al-Nahrain University**
The College of Medicine – Al-Nahrain University witnessed the launch of the “Miracle” Volunteer Team, a charitable and humanitarian initiative comprising over 270 students from various academic stages, along with a number of faculty members. The team operates under the supervision and management of its founding members, who are fifth-year students:
Rawa’ Sabeeh Ibrahim
Noor Khalil Ali
Muqtada Ali Miqdad
The team has carried out several charitable campaigns both inside and outside the college, including supporting students from low-income families and providing assistance to underprivileged families and the families of martyrs.
In collaboration with a governmental organization, the team also organized a charitable recreational trip to an orphanage. The event took place at the 14th of July Park in the holy city of Kadhimiya and included various recreational activities and competitions for children, with prizes and lunch provided—fully funded by donations from team members.
These initiatives fall under the extracurricular activities supported by the college, as they play a significant role in fostering the humanitarian and social values among students. They also contribute to fulfilling the requirements for academic accreditation and global rankings, as well as supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
Goal 1: No Poverty
Goal 2: Zero Hunger
Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being
Goal 4: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
