Al-Nahrain College of Medicine Organizes a Workshop on the Effectiveness of Low-Level Laser Therapy
Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Medicine at Al-Nahrain University, Professor Dr. Anis Khalil Nail, the Department of Physiology (Fisiology), in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, organized an in-person workshop titled "Is Low-Level Laser Therapy Effective?" on Thursday, March 6, 2025, in the department hall.
The workshop was presented by Dr. May Fadhil Estefan, with the participation of a number of professors, technicians, and staff. The workshop covered several topics, including the introduction to the concept of low-level laser, understanding its mechanism of action, and its use in physical and medical treatments. Additionally, the workshop discussed the latest studies proving its role in cosmetic treatments, such as body slimming and wrinkle reduction, where the laser stimulates cells and tissues to improve skin appearance and reduce fat accumulation.
The discussion also addressed the potential risks and side effects of this technology, which are rare and typically mild. The workshop witnessed positive engagement from attendees and fruitful scientific discussions about the effectiveness of this technique in various therapeutic fields.
