Awareness Lecture at Al-Nahrain College of Medicine on Drug Addiction: Between Prevention and Treatment

Under the patronage of the Dean of Al-Nahrain College of Medicine, (Professor Dr. Anis Khalil Nail) esteemed, and within the activities of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit in the college, and in conjunction with the implementation of the National Strategy for Combating Drugs, an awareness-raising lecture titled:

"Drug Addiction: Prevention and Treatment"

was presented on Tuesday, March 26, 2025. The lecture was delivered by (Dr. Zina Nabil Ahmed), a member of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit. The presentation covered the most important types of narcotics and their effects on both physical and mental health, along with highlighting the signs of addiction and methods of prevention. Additionally, the lecture reviewed the therapeutic approaches and rehabilitation programs aimed at mitigating the impact of this dangerous phenomenon on society.

The lecture witnessed positive interaction from the students, with many questions and meaningful discussions raised about ways to enhance awareness of the dangers of drugs and the necessity of intensifying efforts to combat them. This activity comes as part of the college’s efforts to promote health and psychological awareness among students and contribute to building a drug-free society.
