A Course in the Department of Microbiology on Nanoparticle Technology and the Use of Nanoparticles in the Treatment of Leishmania Parasite
Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Medicine – Al-Nahrain University, Prof. Dr. Anis Khalil Nael, and in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, the Department of Microbiology organized a training course entitled:
“The Use of Nanoparticles in the Treatment of Leishmaniasis.”
The course focused on introducing parasitology and parasitic diseases, along with methods of treatment, as well as exploring nanoparticle technologies and their applications in medicine as diagnostic and therapeutic tools. The program also included a comparative study between two types of nanoparticles — zinc oxide and silver — as potential treatments for cutaneous leishmaniasis.
The course targeted medical and life sciences researchers, postgraduate students, and laboratory specialists interested in nanomedicine and parasitology.
