College of Medicine – Al-Nahrain University Participates in the International Conference of the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Program in Ankara

The College of Medicine at Al-Nahrain University participated in the International Conference on the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Program, which was held in the Turkish capital, Ankara, on December 6–7 of this year. The college was represented at this international event by the Dean of the College of Medicine and the ATLS Program Director in Iraq, Prof. Anees Khalil Nail, and the Program Rapporteur, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdullah. The conference featured extensive scientific discussions and specialized research in the field of advanced trauma management, as well as deliberations on mechanisms for developing the program, which is considered one of the most important training programs accredited by the American College of Surgeons. The event was attended by representatives of the College, in addition to the program directors from countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) – Region 17. Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdullah delivered a lecture addressing the current status of the ATLS Program in Iraq and methods of managing trauma cases, highlighting both the challenges and achievements in this field.

The participation of the college in this conference reflects its commitment to maintaining an active presence in international scientific forums and strengthening its ties with influential global institutions, in line with Al-Nahrain University’s efforts to support the internationalization of higher education and to showcase Iraq’s academic standing in a manner befitting its reputation.
