Master’s Thesis Discussion on Biomarkers in Breast Cancer and Their Diagnostic Potential

Master’s Thesis Discussion on Biomarkers in Breast Cancer and Their Diagnostic Potential

09 September 2025

Molecular Mechanism of Mannan Bindin Lectin Endothelin Converting Enzyme Activity and Phospholipase A2 in Invasive Ductal Carcinoma of the Breast.”

The findings revealed a significant increase in serum levels of MBL, ECE, PLA2, and CRP in the IDC group (p < 0.001). Both ECE and PLA2 demonstrated strong diagnostic potential, while MBL levels showed no significant difference between malignant and benign tumors.

  • Clarifying the role of MBL, ECE, and PLA2 in the pathway of breast cancer.

  • Highlighting the association between these biomarkers and the inflammatory response (CRP).

  • Enhancing scientific understanding of how these enzymes contribute to cancer progression and metastasis.

  • Supporting the potential use of ECE and PLA2 as strong diagnostic markers for differentiating breast cancer patients from control groups.

  • Introducing new indicators that may be included in early diagnostic biomarker testing.

  • Supporting the idea that these markers could help physicians distinguish between benign and malignant tumors without always requiring invasive procedures (biopsy).

  • Aligning with the global trend toward personalized medicine by identifying biomarkers that enable early and accurate diagnosis of breast cancer.
