Al-Nahrain College of Medicine students organize a cleanness volunteer campaign, under the slogan (For My College)

Under the supervision of Mr. Assistant Dean for administrative affairs, , Assistant Professor AbdulKareem Hamid Abed, a group of students at Al-Nahrain College of Medicine started a cleaning campaign and rehabilitation which included all college facilities consisting of buildings, gardens and pavements, on Saturday, 02/21/2015. Under the slogan, “For our College”, this campaign was launched in simultaneity with the start of the second semester 2014-2015.

The Dean, Professor Alaa Ghani Hussein, blessed the exerted efforts by students in performing this campaign, which expressed the spirit of teamwork between teaching and personnel staffs from one hand, and students on the other hand to make the image of the college as pompous as possible. in addition to show students’ consciousness and education; in a successful attempt to take out the energies and positive ideas of

attentiveness. As well as to invest Leisure of vacation in holding such activities, that involved cleaning, and rehabilitation inner ranks of the college gardens,

Moreover to clean all corridors to make the college wearing a new and clean vestment during office days, worthy of university student reflecting students’ curiosity to their college, and diagnosing brilliant ideas students have in Al-Nahrain University in general and in the College of Medicine in particular.

The representative of the students union, who is the owner of the idea of voluntary campaign, Ali Ghaleb Mahdi, delivered address saying that our campaign was not because of the lack of cleaners’ duty. However, firstly it was an idea to help them appreciating their everyday endless efforts and participating them in this honor. Secondly, we have had ideas and vision to make the college more beautiful and cleaner through adding some touches by cleaning gardens, and pruning trees.

So, the idea was presented to a group of students and the idea was implemented immediately. The campaign started after obtaining the approval of the Deanship of the college, and the Dean welcomed the idea and sought to provide what we need for this campaign.

Assistant Professor AbdulKareem Hamid welcomed the idea of a voluntary campaign with an objective to serve the college, to maintain its properties, to clean it and to take care of it. He also praised the great-exerted efforts to achieve these objectives. Assistant Professor AbdulKareem Hamid adding that this campaign shows the great love students have towards their college reflecting that the college has outstanding students with civilized ideas to embody on the ground, as well as our duty is to support such campaigns with noble objective and impressive reality.
