Diagnosis of cryptococcus meningitis by conventional methods and real time polymerase chain reaction

Abstract

Sixty samples were collected and enrolled in this study over five months from january to May 2013, conventional methods included cell count and diffrentiation, biochemical Dx., staining and culture as well as lattex agglutination test for the DX. of C. neoformans from CSF samples positive results was (3.33%). SYBER green real-time PCR was conducted too, positive results was (6.66%).
