Arwa completed her postgraduate study in Al-Nahrain University, College of Medicine, Microbiology Department, Baghdad, Iraq. She has held faculty positions in Microbiology Department at 2007. She granted six months from the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education as visiting Scholar at Molecular Virology Laboratory, Department of Pathology, Microbiology, & Immunology, USC School of Medicine, South Carolina-United State of America. She has extensive practical experience in Tumor Virology and Molecular Virology. Arwa’s main research interests are in oncogenic viruses and tumor biology, in particular HPV and its association with cervical cancer progression and she has several publications about the carcinogenic effect of the "high-risk" HPVs. Also her current projects are focused on HCV genotypes and subtypes and New Drug Screening for HIV.
