An awareness campaign for early breast cancer screening.

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Medicine, University of Al-Nahrain, Professor Dr. Anis Khalil Nayel, the Department of Family and Community Medicine, in collaboration with the Surgery Department, Pharmacology Department, and the Women Empowerment Unit, along with fourth-year students, organized an awareness campaign titled "Because You Matter" during the month of October. This initiative aims to achieve sustainable development goals to ensure better health and community building. It is a voluntary campaign to raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early screening. Brochures were distributed to women visiting Al-Kadhimiya Hospital after obtaining official approvals from the hospital administration. Additionally, female staff members of Al-Nahrain College of Medicine were encouraged to undergo early screening according to the schedules provided in the brochure. They were examined by specialists from the Surgery and Obstetrics Departments, who provided appropriate care based on their condition.
