About - Department of Physiology and Medical Physics
- Founded in 1988
- The branch undertakes the task of teaching human physiology to second-year students of Al-Nahrain College of Medicine as a basic subject in the study of medicine.
- The branch teaches students of the College of Engineering, Department of Biomedical Engineering at Al-Nahrain University human physiology in addition to biological techniques, and our branch is a main and founding branch for this department.
- The branch also teaches and trains postgraduate students in other scientific branches such as pharmacology and medical drugs, and students of higher diploma and board in diagnostic radiology.
- The branch contributes to developing students' mental skills through various modern academic and practical teaching methods.
- Also providing students with the basics of various clinical examinations, and how to apply this information in practical life.
- The branch is affiliated with the Iraqi Board of Medical Specialties (specialty of neurophysiology) as it is the main founder of this specialty.
- The branch grants a master's and doctorate degree in medical physiology to graduate doctors for the purpose of preparing them to be teachers or researchers. The first master's degree was awarded in 1993 to Dr. Haider Ghani, and the first doctorate degree was awarded to Dr. Farqad Badr Hamdan in 2000.
