Scientific Seminar at Al-Nahrain University College of Medicine on the Integrated Diagnosis of Thyroid Nodules

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Medicine at Al-Nahrain University, Professor Dr. Anis Khalil Nayel, the Department of Internal Medicine, in cooperation with the Department of Surgery at the college and with the participation of the Iraqi Board of Medical Specializations and the Iraqi Society of Diabetes and Endocrinology, organized a scientific seminar in the college’s main hall addressing the role of the multidisciplinary medical team in the diagnosis and management of thyroid nodules from medical, histopathological, and surgical perspectives.

The seminar featured the participation of Professor Dr. Mahmoud Shaker Khudair, Head of the Department of Internal Medicine; Professor Dr. Bashar Abbas, Head of the Department of General Surgery; and Dr. Sudad Ahmed from the Histopathology Department at Al-Imamain Al-Kadhimain Medical City. They delivered scientific lectures reviewing the latest developments in the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid nodules, emphasizing the importance of integration among different medical specialties to enhance diagnostic accuracy and to select the most appropriate therapeutic options.

The seminar also included the presentation and discussion of several diverse clinical cases of thyroid nodular diseases, highlighting modern diagnostic approaches and advanced therapeutic options adopted in contemporary medical practice.

The seminar witnessed distinguished scientific attendance, including a number of specialist physicians and faculty members, in addition to trainees of the Iraqi Board of Medical Specializations and undergraduate medical students from the College of Medicine.
