A Faculty Member at Al-Nahrain College of Medicine Successfully Performs a Complex Surgical Procedure to Remove a Large Meningioma

Professor Dr. Ihsan Subhi Al-Baldawi, a neurosurgery consultant and faculty member in the Department of Surgery at the College of Medicine – Al-Nahrain University, successfully led a specialized medical team in performing a complex surgical procedure to remove a large meningioma from the right side of the brain of a 72-year-old female patient. The tumor measured 5 × 6 cm.

The surgery was performed at Medical City Hospital. The patient had been suffering from memory impairment, weakness on the left side of the body, and persistent headaches. The tumor was completely removed using a surgical microscope. Following the procedure, the patient’s health condition improved significantly, and she was discharged from the hospital in good health.

This achievement reflects the scientific expertise and outstanding surgical skills of the faculty members of the College of Medicine – Al-Nahrain University, as well as their active role in providing advanced specialized medical care.
