Faculty Member at Al-Nahrain College of Medicine Delivers an Awareness Lecture on Breast Cancer

Prof. Dr. Ban Jumaa Qasim, a faculty member of the Department of Pathology and Forensic Medicine at Al-Nahrain College of Medicine and a consultant histopathologist, participated in the health awareness and cultural festival organized by the Higher Institute of Forensic Sciences at Al-Nahrain University on Wednesday, 28 October 2026, by delivering a lecture entitled:

“Breast Cancer: From Early Detection to Accurate Diagnosis”

The lecture addressed the risk factors and warning signs of breast cancer, emphasizing the importance of early detection and modern diagnostic techniques. Particular attention was given to the role of biopsies, histopathological examinations, and immunohistochemical tests in establishing an accurate diagnosis and determining appropriate treatment options. The lecture also aimed to correct common misconceptions and promote health awareness.

At the conclusion of the festival, Prof. Dr. Ban Jumaa Qasim was presented with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of her scientific contributions and outstanding efforts in raising health awareness and serving the community.
