Al-Nahrain University College of Medicine Organizes the International ATLS Course on Advanced Trauma Life Support

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Medicine at Al-Nahrain University, Prof. Dr. Anis Khalil Nayel, and within the activities of the Department of Surgery, and in cooperation with the American College of Surgeons, the College of Medicine at Al-Nahrain University organized the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course in accordance with the 11th edition, from February 6 to 7, 2026. The course witnessed the participation of ten trainees from various Iraqi provinces and was supervised by the international instructor Dr. Walid Othman Abu Jalalah. It included an intensive scientific and training program comprising theoretical lectures and specialized practical applications, aiming to develop physicians’ skills in dealing with emergency trauma cases according to the latest approved international standards.
The course concluded with all participants successfully fulfilling its requirements, reflecting the advanced academic level and the commitment to supporting continuing medical education programs at the College of Medicine, Al-Nahrain University. At the end of the course, the Dean of the College honored the international instructor, Dr. Walid Abu Jalalah, with the College Shield in appreciation of his scientific efforts and effective role in ensuring the success of the course.
