Al-Nahrain University College of Medicine Publishes Scientific Research in a Q1-Ranked International Journal
An international peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal, indexed in Scopus and Web of Science (Clarivate/SCIE) and ranked in the Q1 quartile, has published a scientific research paper by Assistant Professor Dr. Mazin Kamil Hamid, a faculty member in the Department of Physiology and Medical Physics, College of Medicine – Al-Nahrain University, entitled:
“Antibacterial Activity of Biosynthesized Selenium Nanoparticles from Soil-Borne Bacteria under Electric and Non-Electric Field Conditions”
The study focuses on the biosynthesis of selenium nanoparticles and the evaluation of their antibacterial activity under electric and non-electric field conditions, integrating the fields of nanotechnology, medical physics, and biomedical applications.
The findings demonstrated that the biosynthesized selenium nanoparticles exhibited antibacterial activity, with this activity being enhanced under the influence of an electric field. These findings support the potential application of this technology in a range of nanotechnological, biological, and medical applications.
This study reflects the ongoing efforts of the College of Medicine – Al-Nahrain University to support high-quality scientific research and promote innovative research outputs addressing emerging fields and medical and biological applications, thereby contributing to strengthening the College’s scientific presence and academic standing at the international level.
