Al-Nahrain College of Medicine Organizes a Humanitarian Initiative on the Occasion of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty
Under the patronage and in the presence of the Dean of the College of Medicine at Al-Nahrain University, Professor Dr. Anis Khalil Nayel, and with the attendance of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Student Affairs, the Head of the Supporting Sciences Unit, and the Head of the Human Rights Unit, the College’s Human Rights Unit organized a humanitarian activity as part of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan.
The initiative included the distribution of food baskets to support underprivileged families, embodying the values of social solidarity and reinforcing the spirit of community responsibility that the College strives to instill among its staff and students.
This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals approved by the United Nations, particularly Goal 1: No Poverty; Goal 2: Zero Hunger; and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through strengthening cooperation, volunteer work, and community service.
The College of Medicine at Al-Nahrain University reaffirms its continued support for humanitarian initiatives that contribute to achieving sustainable development and promoting the principles of social justice and solidarity among members of society.
