The Third Meeting of the Committee of the Deans of the Iraqi Colleges of Medicine at the College of Medicine - University of Wasit .... Media Unit

Dean of Al-Nahrain College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Alaa Ghani Hussein Mubarak headed the third meeting of the committee of the Deans of the Iraqi Colleges of Medicine at the College of Medicine - University of Wasit, for the academic year 2014-2015 on Thursday, 4th. 6. 2015.

The meeting agenda included discussing many axes concentrating on fixation of the minutes of the previous meeting concerning the implementation of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research directives, the decent Professor, Dr. Hussein al-Shahristani,

for medical colleges of( Al-Nahrain, Al-Qadissiya, Babylon, Diyala, Thi -Qar) where the curricula of studying, that is related to the new created institutes, have been discussed extensively, and recommending amendments required for the purpose of adoption.

The study of curriculum concerning with the creating of Samara College of Medicine and suggestion of establishment of the center of the development of medical teaching and training as well as other issues concerning with the application of Continuing Medical Education Program, the production of studies (Higher Diploma, Masters, and PhD) in different disciplines within the Medical Sciences (basic and clinical)

Also, they discussed the necessity of activating the top twenty of the first quarter within the colleges of medicine and the need to assign job grades of the Ministry of Finance to supplement colleges of medicine with the new medicine and teaching bachelor staff who form the corner stone for the future teaching staff, especially in the rare medical specialties. The notes, concerning with the equivalence of certificates of expatriates from outside Iraq were discussed.

The meeting nearly lasted four hours, and at the end Mr. Dean of Wasit College of Medicine and the Head and members of the Committee acquainted with the study halls for teaching small groups with a high and suitable level of furniture. Then, Mr. Chairman and members of the committee presented their thanks and gratitude to the Dean of the College of Medicine - University of Wasit, Assistant Professor Dr. Husam Majeed Hameed, for his exerted efforts in the organization of the meeting and the preparing the required supplies and hospitality.
