Civil Defense Training Course to Enhance Occupational Safety at the College of Medicine, Al-Nahrain University

The College of Medicine at Al-Nahrain University, in collaboration with the Civil Defense Division of the university, organized a specialized training course in civil defense targeting faculty members, administrative staff, and students.

The course aimed to promote occupational safety concepts and enhance participants’ awareness and preparedness in dealing with emergency situations. It included both theoretical and practical sessions focusing on effective response to various incidents, particularly fire emergencies. Additionally, the course covered fundamental principles of first aid and safe evacuation procedures during disasters.

The training also introduced the modern alarm systems recently installed in the college, highlighting their operational mechanisms and their vital role in minimizing risks. Furthermore, it addressed the approved emergency evacuation plans and provided a detailed explanation of the external fire suppression system (hose reel) newly implemented in the college, emphasizing its proper use and importance in ensuring rapid emergency response.

This initiative reflects the College of Medicine’s commitment to providing a safe educational environment and strengthening the readiness of its members to effectively respond to various emergency conditions.
