Three International Awards and Research Partnerships with Taiwan and the United States… Al-Nahrain University Medical Students Continue to Excel at ICOPH
In a new academic achievement added to the distinguished record of the College of Medicine – Al-Nahrain University, the College’s students and graduates made an exceptional contribution to the International Conference on Public Health (ICOPH), concluding their participation with several prestigious scientific awards, in addition to establishing promising international research partnerships.
Graduate Narjis Kadhim Jabr, Class of 2026, under the supervision of Dr. Yasmeen Abbas Hamadi, received the Best Research Award for her study entitled:
“Prevalence and Associations of Generalized Joint Hypermobility among Medical Students in Al-Nahrain University.”
Fifth-year student Dania Alaa Kamil, under the supervision of Dr. Mithaq Hassan Al-Akeeli, also excelled by receiving the Best Presentation Award in the Innovation, Technology and the Future of Health track for her research entitled:
“Information Seeking Behavior among Students of Al-Nahrain University.”
Her achievement did not stop there, as she also received the Best Student Presentation Award, an accomplishment that reflects the high level of scientific knowledge and research skills demonstrated by the College’s students.
The conference also witnessed a distinguished academic presence by Fatima Iyad, a fifth-year student, who held a series of academic meetings with international researchers and experts. These meetings resulted in agreements to launch future research projects, most notably the preparation of a joint scientific study in the healthcare field in collaboration with researchers from Taiwan and the United States of America. This initiative will contribute to expanding the horizons of international scientific cooperation and strengthening the research presence of the College of Medicine – Al-Nahrain University.
These achievements reaffirm the College’s commitment to supporting scientific research, encouraging its students to actively participate in international conferences, and consolidating its position as a leading academic institution that contributes to knowledge production and the development of global scientific partnerships, in line with the standards of academic and research excellence.
