Al-Nahrain College of Medicine Holds the 11th Edition of the ATLS Course to Enhance Trauma Management Skills

Al-Nahrain University College of Medicine held the 11th edition of the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Course, the latest edition accredited by the American College of Surgeons (ACS), with the participation of 32 trainees from various governorates across Iraq. The course was conducted from September 13 to 15, 2026.

The course incorporated the latest updates and internationally recognized protocols for the management of trauma and injury cases, contributing to the development of participants’ clinical skills and enhancing their competence in rapid assessment and appropriate medical response to emergency situations, in accordance with internationally recognized standards.

The course also featured a visit by Professor Dr. Anees K. Nile, Dean of the College of Medicine – Al-Nahrain University and Head of the ATLS Program in Iraq. During his visit, he reviewed the progress of the training activities and the mechanisms for implementing the training program. He emphasized the importance of conducting such specialized courses in developing clinical skills and enhancing the competence of medical personnel in the fields of trauma and emergency medicine.
