Physics Laboratory
At the beginning of the first semester, students are introduced in the medical physics laboratory to measuring instruments, calculation of accuracy and error percentages in the device. Then students are distributed to practical experiments that cover mechanical physics and its applications in the medical field, such as the experiment of water flow through capillary tubes, measurement of viscosity and surface tension, measurement of sound speed, and the change in resistance due to temperature variation (thermistor), and the experiment of lung functions and how to measure atmospheric pressure using Boyle's law, and measurement of human blood pressure using the medical pressure device (Sphygmomanometer).
In the second semester, the experiments cover optics and laser physics due to their importance in medical applications, and experiments on nuclear physics through which the student learns about types of radiation and their applications, and the risks arising from radioactive sources and their effects on human health.
