Vision - Department of Pediatrics
The pediatrics department seeks to fulfill the country's needs with highly qualified medical staff capable to assess the community child health needs and to improve quality of life.
Mission
- To graduate medical doctors equipped with the knowledge and skills to be able to plan and evaluate health programs to reduce child mortality and morbidity in the community.
- To provide clinical training for 4th and 6th year students, teaching them how to reach patient diagnosis through history taking, clinical examination, and diagnostic aids.
- To supervise and follow up the work of postgraduate students (Iraqi and Arab Board).
Objectives
- Emphasize on the preventive measures of different diseases in children.
- To identify the prevalent health problems in the community.
- Highlight the importance of different types of infection in children.
