The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Issa, headed the meeting of the Ministry Consultive Council with the presence of all members of the Council of state and private sector. The Minister hosted The Dean of the College of Medicine / Al-Nahrain University, Prof. Dr. Alaa Ghani Hussein, the Chairman of the Committee of Deans of Medical Colleges in Iraq. The meeting discussed the development of strategies of employment skills for university graduates and a proposed mechanism for admission to medical group colleges. The Minister also stressed the importance of enhancing the technical application aspect in the universities and to be opened to the local, Arab, and international labor market, putting in mind providing the necessary knowledge and sciences required by market needs. The Minister pointed out that the Iraqi universities and institutions should follow this direction and build on the recommendations of the 16th Conference of Arab Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which was chaired by Iraq and which was held recently in Cairo at the headquarters of the League of Arab States under the theme "Higher Arab Education, Arab Higher Education and the world of work and production - a New Vision.
