Within the scientific activities of the Faculty of Medicine - Al-Nahrain University and under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Prof. Dr.Anis Khalil Nayel, The surgery branch of the college held an electronic scientific seminar entitled (New Developments in Hemorrhoids Treatment) on 19/2/2021 by Dr. (Rawa Abdul Sattar Abdel Wahab) and on the (Google Meet) program. The seminar was attended by a number of faculty members in the college and a number of doctors Al-Imameen Al-Kadhimin Medical City, Where the surgical methods were discussed and how they developed over the years, as well as the latest developments in the treatment of hemorrhoids and the presentation of studies that compare modern methods, especially the LigaSure ™ heat pressed method in treating hemorrhoids and its comparison with the old surgical method (Milligan Morgan's), a video from the doctor’s work was shown showing how to use the LigaSure ™ in hemorrhoid surgery, with a simple explanation of the device and the mechanism of its use, also discussed the use of sclerotherapy in the treatment of hemorrhoids and how to reduce pain after hemorrhoid operations.
