Al-Nahrain University is included in the Times list of universities for higher education for the first time.

The results of The Impact Universities for the year 2021 showed that Nahrain University entered into the Times Classification, where (Nahrain University) ranked 1001 out of 1115 international universities that were classified according to the 17 United Nations goals for sustainable development. In addition to the emergence of 37 Iraqi public and private universities in the classification, Al-Nahrain University ranked (401-600) within the third goal (Good Health and well-being) out of (871) participating universities and the center (810 + Top) within the fourth goal (Quality Education) Out of (966) participating universities, it was ranked (Top 600 ) within the ninth goal (Industry Innovations and Infrastructure) out of (680) participating universities and it was ranked (Top 800 ) within the seventeenth goal (Partnerships for the goals) out of (1154) Participating University.

Al-Nahrain University ranked the following places locally compared to Iraqi universities, as it came in (5) within the third goal (Good Health and well-being) out of (29) participating Iraqi universities, and (24) within the fourth goal (Quality Education) out of ( 31) A participating Iraqi university was ranked (3) within the ninth goal (Industry Innovations and Infrastructure) out of (15) participating Iraqi universities and ranked (4) within the seventeenth goal (Partnerships for the goals) out of (37) participating Iraqi universities. This classification is issued by The Times of Britain on an annual basis and international universities vie in it, as there are 17 goals, 169 destinations 230 indicators to achieve the United Nations sustainable development goals.
