**Surgical Removal of a Dermoid Cyst from the Lumbar Spinal Canal**
A 54-year-old patient suffering from lower limb weakness and urinary retention due to compression of the lumbar nerves inside the lumbar spinal canal caused by a dermoid cyst extending from the second lumbar vertebra to the second sacral vertebra underwent surgery.
The operation involved opening the lumbar vertebrae and completely removing the cyst and its contents while ensuring the preservation of nerve integrity. The patient showed significant improvement immediately after the surgery and was discharged from the hospital a few days later in very good health, praise be to God.
The surgery lasted approximately 4 continuous hours.
