The Department of Physiology accomplished a course titled: Developed training to become a professional medical physicist

Under the patronage of the esteemed Dean of the College of Medicine at Al-Nahrain University, Professor Anis Khalil Nail, and in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, the Department of Physiology (Medical Physics) conducted an in-person training course titled:

Developed training to become a professional medical physicist

The course took place in the Medical Physics Hall from November 10 to November 17, 2024. The participating professors were:

  • Prof. Dr. Siham Sabah

  • Assist. Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Abdullah

  • Assist. Prof. Dr. Jinan Hussein

  • Assist. Prof. Dr. Hussein Ghani

  • Lect. Dr. Rowaida Abdul Amir

  • Lect. Dr. Mai Fadhel Estephan

  • Lect. Dr. Majid Hamid

The lectures during the first day focused on the fundamental physical principles of the MRI machine and its medical applications. On the second day, lectures were dedicated to the operation and physical principles of blood pressure devices and their medical use. The third day featured lectures on the physical functions and practical applications of pulmonary function testing equipment. The fourth day addressed the formation of X-rays and their medical applications. On the fifth day, the lectures discussed the electrical physiology of the heart, and on the final day, the topic was the diagnostic devices for muscles and nerves.
