The Head of the Department of Internal Medicine at the College of Medicine – Al-Nahrain University, Professor Dr. Mahmood Shakir Khudair, participated in an educational seminar organized by the Al-Taji Primary Health Care Sector as part of the activities of the Iraqi Diabetes and Endocrine Association (IDEA) on the occasion of Diabetes Awareness Month. The seminar included an interactive session with a group of patients and staff members living with diabetes, during which key challenges in diagnosis and treatment were discussed, and attendees’ inquiries regarding prevention methods and proper medical follow-up were addressed. This activity comes as part of the university’s and the association’s efforts to promote health awareness and encourage patients to adopt healthy lifestyles that help manage the disease and reduce its complications.

The College of Medicine at Al-Nahrain University continues to maintain its distinguished scientific presence in Arab medical forums through active participation that contributes to the exchange of expertise and the advancement of medical research and development. Asst. Prof. Dr. Ruaa Abdul-Sattar Abdul-Wahab from the Department of Surgery at the College of Medicine, Al-Nahrain University, participated in the 53rd Conference of the Jordanian Surgical Society, held in Amman, the capital of Jordan, upon invitation from the society. Dr. Ruaa presented a scientific paper titled “Laser Applications and Their Use in the Treatment of Anal Diseases,” which discussed the latest therapeutic methods and modern surgical techniques in this field. This participation comes as part of the College’s ongoing efforts to promote scientific collaboration and contribute to the development of medical research, thereby enhancing the quality of healthcare and surgical services in the region. The Dean of the College of Medicine at Al-Nahrain University, Prof. Dr. Anees Khalil Nael, reaffirms the College’s commitment to continuously supporting its academic staff and encouraging their active participation in specialized conferences and symposia, reinforcing the College’s leading role and reputation in the medical and academic community.
